The Sanatorium has 271 beds. Under the issued license, the Sanatorium administers 2nd level medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment.
- children’s rehabilitation (pulmonology, neurology, orthopaedics-trauma treatment);
- children’s health restoration treatment (pulmonology, neurology, arthritis-trauma treatment, psycho and behaviour disorders);
- anti-relapse treatment;
- nursing rehabilitation;
Medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment is performed by our specialists’ team. Premises are adapted for children with disability: slopes at the entries for patients in wheelchairs, broader doors in wards, sanitary facilities and showers are adapted for patients with serious disability.
The Sanatorium administers treatment to children under 18 years. Children under 7 years are accepted with one parent or a guardian, children at the age from 7 to 16 years are accepted alone, except for the patients with disability (disordered biosocial functions, for example, children’s cerebral paralysis, progressing diseases).
The Sanatorium has the following specialised departments: neurology, orthopaedics and trauma therapy. Up to 5000 young patients are treated in our institution every year.
Medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment can be repeated during the same calendar year for disabled children and children suffering from progressing diseases, following the procedure established by the MoH.
Children with the following illnesses are treated in the Sanatorium:
- Tracheal and pulmonary diseases (bronchial asthma, obstructive bronchitis, pneumonia convalescence, etc.);
- Neurological illnesses (children’s cerebral paralysis, hereditary progressive neural illnesses, intracranial hypertension, etc.);
- Psychic and behaviour illnesses (depressive episodes, neurotic, stress and somatoform disorders);
- Arthritic diseases (youth arthritis, osteochondritis of different localisation, osteomyelitis, etc.);
- Traumatic and orthopaedic diseases (following fractures of the long bones, pelvic girdles, and vertebrae, following surgical operations of congenital support and motor apparatus development defects, joint surgery operations, etc.).
The following medical rehabilitation methods, forms, and treatment means are applied in the Sanatorium:
- kinezitherapy (movement treatment);
- physiotherapy (treatment by physical remedies);
- psychotherapy (psychological and social aid);
- climatic therapy (treatment by natural factors – sun, sea, air);
- treatment by medicines;
- diet therapy.
Kinezitherapy:
- morning hygienic gymnastics outdoors and in the gym;
- individual and group remedial gymnastics outdoors and in the gym;
- remedial exercises with “Kettler” fitness equipment;

- spine stretching in water.
Physiotherapy:

Psychotherapy:

- social workers (consultations, handling problems of disabled patients and their accompanying persons);

Children with disability, speech defects, after serious traumas, surgical operations, etc., receive assistance from:
- speech therapist (consultations, individual seminars);
- trauma therapist – orthopaedist (consultations, adaptation and free supply of orthopaedic aids);
- computer-equipped class;
The Sanatorium has a clinical laboratory, functional diagnostic room. Doctors and nurses’ services are available 24 hours per day.
